‘Be the Best Boss’ Workshops Offer Businesses a Competitive Edge

Press Release Monday, June 23rd, 2014 – Workforce BluePrint

With competition for skilled employees intense between industries and businesses in the Western Downs and Surat Basin, a series of upcoming workshops promise to give participating businesses the competitive edge.

The “Be the Best Boss’ two-day workshop series is being facilitated by leading workforce planners and developers, Workforce BluePrint and will be held in the Western Downs centres of Dalby, Chinchilla, Tara and Wandoan in August.

The workshops are part of the AgriFood National Regional Initiatives, which is working with employers, government and educators to invest in strategies that will boost the skills of the regional workforce and improve the profitability of businesses within the region.

According to Wendy Perry, Workforce BluePrint’s Head of Workforce Planning, those businesses that are committed to supporting and developing their employees are the businesses that will survive and thrive in competitive workforce environments.

“These workshops will discuss strategies to develop and support a committed and capable workforce. A committed workforce is one of the key investments to minimising productivity leaks, to improving profitability and increasing return on investment.”

“The workshops are extremely practical and will help employers build staff engagement and satifaction, will help build relationships between staff and their organisations and will encourage staff to always ‘have their organisations back.” Ms Perry said.

Open to all businesses across the Western Downs and the Surat Basin, the two-day workshops will be held at

Dalby:-31 July – 1 August, Tara:-4 – 5 August, Wandoan:-6 – 7 August and Chinchilla:-11 -12 August 2014.

AgriFood Skills Australia is providing the opportunity for businesses to participate in these workshops at heavily subsidised prices. Normally prices at $1997.00 including GST, Western Downs and Surat Basin businesses will only pay $50. Businesses are encouraged to book fast as places are limited and are expected to  sell out fast.

AgriFood National Regional Initiatives is a project of AgriFood Skills Australia, whose role is to drive skills and workforce development across the agrifood industry and regional Australia.
